Your engine’s fan belt has two crucial roles; firstly, it helps to run the engine’s cooling system. Secondly, it drives the alternator which generates electric power. If the belt is worn, cracked or slipping, it won’t be able to do either of these things correctly. Each Perkins engine has its own belt size and configuration.
